My name is Sean Lindley and I’m quite excited to be the token American, “Diversity Hire” for LOWREADY MAGAZINE
Like the 50 Shades of Gray guy, when it comes to firearms, my desires are…. unconventional. I love things the government frowns upon ordinary people owning, and then figuring out a way to both own and sell it to private citizens. So my professional background is in explosives, explosive ordnance, and large-caliber weapons such as grenade-launchers and rocket-launchers.
I founded Texas Machine-Gun & Ordnance (TXMGO) back in 2015, which became the United States’ largest civilian M203 40mm grenade-launcher distributor (contrary to what Robert Francis O’Rourke said back in 2019, yes you can own a grenade-launcher and drive a tank down the street in Texas). From grenade-launchers, TXMGO expanded into import and export of firearms, explosives, and items regulated under the International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations. TXMGO now has locations in both Texas and Florida, where in addition to import and export, we manufacture and sell live RPG launchers, mortars, and similar weapons to private citizens; plus the sale of less-lethal weapons to law-enforcement.
Our antics with TXMGO expanded into our YouTube channel Ordnance Lab, where we feature content on explosives and explosive weapons. We have made everything from Molotov Cocktails & pipebombs, to 3D printed mortar rounds & rockets.
I split my time between my family ranch in south Texas where we do our explosives work, and Austin where our consulting company Ordnance & Energetics Consulting LLC is, providing consulting on ITAR, explosives, import/export, and other topics I have experience with.
On top of all that other stuff, I also do work as an expert witness related to firearms and explosives for legal proceedings.
My military background is as an Armor officer in the Army, who has never touched a tank outside of my initial training and was assigned to infantry units for the early part of my career. I graduated Ranger School with Class 06-09 and deployed to Iraq from 2009-2010.
I am much more of a gun collector, than a shooter. Aside from collecting old police guns and classic military weapons, I am also a full-blown autistic cloner. The type who needs to have 2 identical select-fire M4 Carbines, one with an ACOG and the other a with an Aimpoint CCO; plus an M16A1, M16A1 with M203, clone correct XM177, M16A2, Mk18, etc.
When I am not doing something with guns; I’m typically at the gym, busy with my 2 dogs Allie and Webley, smoking good cigars and drinking peaty Scotch old enough to vote, or nerding out about philosophy with Nietzsche and Camus being my favorite writers.
I lived near Frankfurt AM as a kid from 1987 to 1990e, studied modern German history in college, was married to a wonderful German girl for several years, and have presented in German at IWA the last few years. Being a Texan, where I can spend Christmas setting off high-explosives and literally shooting machine-guns from my porch, obviously Germany can never be Heimat. But despite all my dumb David Hasselhoff jokes, I genuinely love being in Germany and I am always looking for excuses to visit.
Going forward I hope to bring content in English and German on the legal, technical and use of weapons in my area of expertise such as explosives and explosive ordnance, import/export of weapons from the US, machine-guns, and other topics not currently in LRM.
