We now come to the most challenging part of the “From the Ground Up” program.
So we have learned how our weapon works and how shooting works, at least the basics. We learned how to use dryfire correctly, which equipment is good and which is not. We learned the 4 safety rules and their practical importance based on real scenarios in the “ world outside ”. In Part 3 of Shepherd Development's pistol course, we now move to the higher levels of shooting theory.
Cadence and rhythm.
What is a cadence and why does our body work so well with rhythms? These questions are answered in detail in the “From the Ground Up” program. Just like in the first two sections (videos 1:1 to 1:8 and 2:1 to 2:7), it's not just about explaining what to do in theory. Instead, you are shown step by step and in clear demonstrations what the training now looks like in concrete terms and which exercises and techniques should and have to be practiced and implemented. “From the Ground Up” ensures that you not only understand what to do, but also why and how it works, to provide you with a solid and sustainable foundation.

Section 3 begins with the draw from the holster (video 3:1) and continues with shot calling - recognizing where the shot has landed - and why this is so important for continuous development. (Video 3:2). Next is error analysis (video 3:5) to help you identify your shortcomings and work on them. Finally, you will be trained in the areas of speed and target transitions so that you can become even faster and more precise. In short, this is a very comprehensive video course that offers you not only a lot of theory, but also practical knowledge, techniques and exercises to take your handgun skills to the next level.

"All good things come to an end."
Free video content too. We have now reached the end of the course. So what do we think about “From the Ground Up” in summary? We think that “From the Ground Up” is a real wake-up call to all instructors out there, including ourselves. The expertise and decades of Law Enforcement experience that have gone into this course alone make it unique. Of course, having an experienced instructor on site is something completely different. But such courses can quickly cost several hundred dollars - not to mention the traveling costs. However, if you understand English, you get a video course here that is truly unrivaled in terms of content. There is simply nothing else like it. And the best thing about it: we don't have to pay a penny for it. Of course, a clever shooter knows that the money saved can be put directly into more ammunition for more training.
